Leading trainer Chris Waller appears as though he will dominate the final field for the feature race after including all of Press Statement, Metallic Crown and Wudang Mountain in 2015 Caulfield Guineas second acceptances.

Press Statement stamped his claims as one to watch upon debuting to racing in late autumn; taking out a pair of minor Sydney sprints with complete ease.

Thrown in the deep end when floated to Brisbane for the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) on June 6th, the Hinchinbrook colt franked his form when producing a monumental turn of foot to comfortably beat a talented field to the line.

Having returned this time for second in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1300m), Press Statement received a horror run in transit in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) last time out and only managed fifth.

Yet to finish outside the first three in four career starts, Metallic Crown has proven he is up to the class and appears as though he’ll relish the 1600m of the 2015 Caulfield Guineas.

Running in the minors in a pair of Sydney sprints through July and August, Metallic Crown posted a maiden race win in the TAB Place Multi Maiden (1300m) before making a successful transition to black type racing in winning the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) on September 5th.

Wudang Mountain has been unable to post consistent results through his short five start career, but has claimed two wins within that time.

Charging home to beat a number of fancied horses in the McGrath Estate Agents BM72 (1400m) on August 29th, the Big Brown colt was unable to match the late pace when fourth in the Group 3 Spring Stakes (1600m) in Newcastle last week, but should take plenty of benefit from what was his first appearance over a mile.

Devil Hawk stamped his claims as one to watch when taking out the Spring Stakes last week, but is interestingly not one of the two runners included in 2015 Caulfield Guineas second acceptances by trainer Peter Moody.

Team Hawkes have included four three-year-olds in 2015 Caulfield Guineas second acceptances, including Rageese and Snoopy.

Rageese stamped more than accounted his racing arrival through the recent Sydney Autumn Carnival, finishing second in each of the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) and Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m).

Returning for fourth in the Listed Rosebud (1200m) on August 8th, the Street Cry colt broke through for a maiden win in a Wyong minor over 1350m before running on for fourth in the Golden Rose last time out.

Snoopy charged home to win each of his first three starts upon debuting to racing, but received something of a reality check when ninth in the Listed Pin & Win Stakes (1400m) last time out.
