2014 Caulfield Guineas Day: What’s On?

2014 Caulfield Guineas Day is upon us, and while an impressive list of ten black type races headlines the day’s festivities, a bevy of fun, fashion and entertainment also plays a key role in one of the Spring Racing Carnival’s biggest days.

Caulfield Guineas Day entertainment in 2014 is highlighted by an impressive mix of music, running from gates open until the end of the day’s racing.

World-renowned Irish trio The Script headline an impressive list of musical offerings which has also been confirmed to feature acoustic due Frankie, DJ John Course and Jam Xpress; the latter of whom will all perform in the Young Members’ Marquee.

Having just released their fourth studio album, drummer and vocalist for The Script Glen Power told the MRC that band is thrilled to cap off 2014 Caulfield Guineas Day.

“We’re really excited to be in Melbourne for an exclusive performance at Caulfield Racecourse and performing our new single Superheroes as the finale to the BECK Caulfield Guineas Day,” Power said.

Playing a major role in entertainment and culture at all major racing meets through the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, the Chadstone Fashion Stakes will hold a final heat on Caulfield Guineas Day, with the winner offered progression to the Grand Final to be held on Caulfield Cup Day on October 18th.

Chadstone Fashion Stakes hopefuls are offered three major categories for which to enter on Caulfield Guineas Day; Stylish Ladies 18-40 years, Stylish Ladies 40+ and Stylish Gentlemen.

As per previous Fashion Stakes heats held through the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, the winner of each Stylish Ladies category will be wearing something stunning whilst paying tribute to the traditions of horse racing in Australia, while the Stylish Gentlemen’s category will be taken out by an entrant incorporating class, sophistication and exceptional grooming.

Food always plays a major role at any day through the Spring Racing Carnival, and of course Caulfield Guineas Day is no exception. Eat Street combines a huge range of carnival food, race day favourites and superb world-wide cuisine to satisfy everyone’s tastes.
