Returning to the track in exceptional form this time in, Ken Keys has confirmed Rich Enuff in the final field for the 2014 Caulfield Guineas who will leave from the relatively wide barrier 10 with jockey Michael Rodd on board.

Finishing third amongst classy competition in the Friends Of Epworth Handicap (1000m) on debut on March 29th, Keys’ decision to skip the autumn and winter carnivals with Rich Enuff has already paid dividends this season, with the three-year-old claiming comfortable victories in each of the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m), Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m).

Claiming his most recent win by close to three lengths, the Written Tycoon colt appears primed for a maiden victory at the highest level of Australian racing in the Caulfield Guineas, but will need to find ideal racing position early if to overcome easily his biggest test to date this weekend.

Finishing second to Rich Enuff in both the Danehill Stakes and Guineas Prelude most recently, trainer Tony Gollan has confirmed classy Queenslander Looks Like The Cat in the final field for the 2014 Caulfield Guineas, who is likely to receive the run of the race from barrier 9.

Yet to finish outside the places in six career starts to date, Looks Like The Cat secured a comfortable victory in a minor over 1200m on debut and was a standout performer in major two-year-old races over the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival; finishing second in the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) first-up before running third in each of the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) and Group 1 J.J. Atkins (1600m).

Understandably thrilled with his form leading up to the 2014 Caulfield Guineas, Gollan is confident a step-up to a mile will play directly into the strength of the Husson gelding this weekend.

Winner of the 2014 J.J. Atkins and steadily building to the task this time in, trainer Gai Waterhouse is offered a legitimate chance of success in the 2014 Caulfield Guineas in Almalad, however will have to find an extra gear if to overcome the wide and awkward barrier 13.

Winning each of his first three race starts clearly highlighted by a maiden Group 1 victory in the J.J. Atkins, Almalad appeared to have returned to racing in less-than ideal form this time in when beating only one runner home in the Group 3 Run To The Rose (1200m) first-up, but quickly found his feet in finishing fourth in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) and winning the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m) most recently on September 26th.

Also carrying strong winning form into the 2014 Caulfield Guineas, Shooting To Win was arguably the biggest winner of all leading chances in this weekend’s feature race at Wednesday’s barrier draw; allocated the central gate 8.

A particularly exciting prospects for trainers Peter and Paul Snowden leading into the future, Shooting To Win has finished outside the places just once in six career starts and has found exceptional form leading into the Caulfield Guineas; finishing second in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) and third in the Golden Rose before charging home to take out the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) last time out on September 27th.

Confirmed to be partnered by recently crown Sydney Premiership winning jockey James McDonald, all signs point towards a strong performance from Shooting To Win in the 2014 BECK Caulfield Guineas.
