Caulfield Guineas 2012 – Race Preview

The Group 1 Caulfield Guineas is set to run at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday October 13, 2012.

Run over a distance of 1,600 metres, the 2012 Caulfield Guineas is worth $1 million in prize money.

The 2012 Caulfield Guineas is open to three-year-old horses only and is run under set weight conditions.

The race is run as part of Caulfield Guineas Day and shares its program with the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes, Group 1 Toorak Handicap, Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes, Group 2 Schillaci Stakes, and Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes.

Half-brother to Black Caviar, All Too Hard, is already being aimed at a 2012 Caulfield Guineas campaign.

The two-year-old colt, who will turn three before the spring, has won three of his four race starts and has earned more than $415,000 in prize money.

All Too Hard won the Group 2 Victorian Sires’ Produce Stakes and Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes with ease before finishing second to Pierro in the Group 1 Inglis Sires Produce Stakes at Royal Randwick last start.
